Acart Scores Sens Account Ottawa Senators Logo

OTTAWA, ONTARIO — December 8, 2003 — Acart Communications is pleased to have been chosen as the advertising agency of the Ottawa Senators Hockey Club of the National Hockey League.

The account was awarded by the Senators following a competitive bid process which included two other agencies from Ottawa. Acart is now working on a major campaign promoting the acquisition and renewal of season tickets. Scheduled to debut in January, it will include television, radio and print material, as well as a business-to-business component.

"Acart has worked on hockey before," says Jeff Kyle, Vice President of Marketing for the Senators, "And we have a great relationship with the agency from past projects. We look forward to the launch of this campaign to help bring season ticket sales to the next level."

The announcement follows recent projects in which Acart developed a branding strategy for hockey in the National Capital Region and surrounding communities — labeling the region 'Hockey Country.' This joint effort, led by the Senators and the Ottawa 67's of the Ontario Hockey League, sought to celebrate the grassroots passion of local hockey fans.

"We couldn't be more excited," said Chantal Vallerand, Acart's Director of Client Services. "There are a lot of hockey fans in our office, and that energy translated well into our work."

Acart has also worked with the Senators recently to promote Ottawa's bid to host the 2006 IIHF World Junior Hockey Championship. The annual event features the best under-20 players from throughout the world.

Acart also led a successful campaign to re-brand the Ottawa 67's Hockey Club in their 1998-99 season including development of their logo, third jersey and slogan "Hockey with bite."
