OTTAWA, ONTARIO December 19, 2003 Out of 49 advertising agencies from across Canada, Acart Communications has been selected as one of three marketing communications Agencies of Record for VIA Rail Canada, Inc.
Some of Canada's top agencies submitted proposals, from which the field was narrowed to six agencies asked to travel to Montréal to make a presentation. VIA Rail Canada challenged the finalists to show their capabilities and understanding of VIA's business through a formal case study and a brainstorming session. This two-hour, on-site session included on-the-spot development of a complete campaign — strategy, creative, media plan and budget — for a communications objective that was only revealed to the pitch team at the last moment. Acart displayed their resolve under pressure and were rewarded with the Crown Corporation's business, along with two other national agencies.
